By Mark Hersberger. Mark your calendars for August 15-17, 2022, for UC Tech, hosted by UC San Diego. This year we’re offering a hybrid conference for maximum flexibility, including:
- A virtual component, with all keynotes, breakouts, and panels livestreamed
- A limited in-person component at UC San Diego
- “Distributed” gatherings at each campus
“After two years apart, it’s important to reconnect as a community,” said Miguel Rodriguez, chair of the UC Tech planning community. “We’re looking into creative ways to make that happen within COVID event guidelines, and in formats that meet individual comfort levels.”
Stay tuned for more details, including registration procedures and call for proposals.

This Is 40
UC Tech turns 40 this year, as the conference got its start way back in 1982 at UC Santa Cruz. “We’re officially over the hill!” says Miguel. “Making it through the twists and turns of the past four decades is a tremendous accomplishment that deserves celebrating.”
Be on the lookout for more information on how to participate in marking the occasion!
