The June 6 UC IT Town Hall was a must-watch event! Dr. Kyle Lewis, professor of Technology Management at UC Santa Barbara, spoke on the traits of effective teams and how to become a successful teammate.
Dr. Lewis discussed how diversity, such as that of experience, personality, or demography, is paramount to the success of teams. She spoke about the issues that cause ineffective teams, and focused on how to overcome them in order to become a cohesive unit. Since IT is all about teamwork, anyone in the field can benefit from listening to her presentation. At the end, Dr. Lewis took questions submitted by viewers from Zoom and Slack.
Additionally, UC CIO Tom Andriola addressed current UC IT initiatives and events, such as the upcoming UCCSC. Whether you’re interested in the latest IT news, or want to become a more mindful and inclusive teammate, this town hall is for you.
