Register by June 1 – Investing in Growth: UC Staff Explore New Opportunities at the NOW Conference

Next Opportunity at Work Event (NOW) - Register Now

Across the University of California, professional growth isn’t just encouraged—it’s actively supported. One example is UC Berkeley’s annual Next Opportunity at Work (NOW) Conference, a systemwide event designed to help staff reflect on their careers, build new skills, and connect with colleagues across campuses.

Open to all UC staff, the NOW Conference brings together keynote speakers, workshops, and career resources to support ongoing development and leadership growth.

A Space for Career Growth and Connection

NOW is designed to give staff practical tools they can apply immediately—whether that’s strengthening communication skills, exploring new career pathways, or building meaningful professional relationships. Programming spans topics such as career advancement, collaboration, inclusion and belonging, and the future of work, reflecting the wide range of interests and roles across the UC system.

In addition to formal sessions, the conference creates space for connection. Networking with peers across campuses, sharing personal experiences, and participating in coaching opportunities all help foster a stronger sense of community and shared purpose.

Extending Learning Beyond the Event

In addition to the main event, participants can take part in “Coaching HQ”—a series of pre- and post-conference activities that include webinars, group coaching, and one-on-one career coaching sessions. These offerings are designed to help staff translate insights into action and continue their development beyond a single day.

  • Virtual Pre-and Post-conference coaching activities (Coaching HQ) will be held virtually June 8,9, 10, and 12, 2026.

Supporting the UC Community

For UC staff looking to grow in their roles—or explore new possibilities—the NOW Conference offers an accessible way to engage with career development resources while connecting with a broader UC network.
